Australian stock market finished the session slightly lower on Friday, 18 May 2018, as losses in the shares of Gold, Materials and Metals & Mining sectors were offset by gains in healthcare sector. The S&P/ASX 200 index ended 0.1%, or 6.9 points, lower at 6,087.4, while the broader All Ordinaries index fell 6.3 points, or 0.1% at 6,190.9 points.
The benchmark fell 0.5% this week, ending a six-week winning streak. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 0.87% to 11.610.
