A restaurant is trying to track down a "dine and dash" couple who it claims left without paying a $250 bill.
Elmar’s in the Valley, a German restaurant in Henley Brook - northeast of Perth - in Western Australia, shared images of a couple it claims ate at the venue on Saturday about 5pm before leaving without settling the bill.
“When they are ready to settle their bill, we will have the receipt waiting,” the restaurant wrote on Monday.
“We would love for the bill to be paid before the matter is taken to the police.”
It added they drove away in a white Holden coupe.
While the restaurant initially wrote “we are sure it just slipped their mind” to pay the bill, restaurant supervisor Jason Macgill told Yahoo7 News Elmar’s had given the couple “a fair go” with the Facebook post to get in touch and settle the bill, but had received no response.
He added they ordered a three-course meal with cocktails and believed they knew what they were doing.
“They dined and dashed in my eyes,” Mr Macgill said.
“Because they left straight after they ordered their desserts and during the course of the meal they were both going out for a smoke together and coming back in obviously giving us the idea that they would come back again.”
He added the couple did not eat their desserts either and left “very casually”.
Mr Macgill, who has worked at Elmar’s for four years, said similar incidents had occurred in the past but “most of the time” it’s because people have forgotten to pay.
He added those diners “settled their accounts shortly after”.
A WA Police spokesman confirmed the incident has been reported and an investigation was ongoing.
