This is what $350 a week will rent you throughout Queensland

WHAT can rent you a mansion in one suburb, can get you something little more than a walk in wardrobe in another.

The cost of renting in Queensland is as varied as the landscape, with a massive homestead in one spot costing the same as a cramped unit somewhere else.

The Courier-Mail has taken a deep dive into the property to see just how far $350 a week will go in today’s rental market and it comes as no surprise that those looking for a good bang for their buck might have to venture away from the big cities to find their luxurious family home.

BRISBANE

Right in the heart of chic inner-city suburb of New Farm $350 will rent you a two-bedroom unit at 4/20 Bowen St. The unit in an art deco building has a secure lock up garage. There is a separate lounge and dining area.

If those bragging rights aren’t worth sacrificing on space, most inner Brisbane suburbs can give you an extra bedroom within the $350 price range, or if you don’t mind living out of the city centre, you can pick up a family home in Wacol in Brisbane’s west without breaking the bank.

The home at 27 Palmer Crescent, has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a massive deck.

GOLD COAST

If you hunt hard enough it is possible to squeeze a two bedder out of $350 in the centre of the Gold Coast, amid the glitz of the Surfers Paradise Glitter Strip.

A basic two-bedroom unit at 5/12 Leonard Ave, Surfers Paradise with a single carport also has perks such as access to the complex pool.

SUNSHINE COAST

On average around the Sunny Coast you can pick up a two-bedroom townhouse within price range with a car spot, like this one at 5/31 Baden Powell St, Maroochydore.

The townhouse is walking distance to the Ocean Street Precinct.

CHARTERS TOWERS

Inland northern Queensland generally sees the dollars stretch further in the housing market, meaning you can squeeze five bedrooms out of $350 west of Townsville.

Open decks, airconditioning and a swimming pool make it a very relaxing retreat, and you won’t have many neighbours to worry about.
