"Very clearly, this means jobs for Queensland and jobs for Ipswich," she said.
"As a government, we've fought hard to ensure this contract is won by Queensland because it means jobs for Queensland.
She highlighted former State Development minister Anthony Lynham’s 2017 visit to Germany to push Ipswich’s suitability for the project and current minister Cameron Dick’s Australian Defence Magazine Conference address in February.
But Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington hailed the LNP’s Team Queensland collective of federal MPs for “fighting tooth and nail” for the work.
“If state Labor spent less time Canberra bashing and more time consulting we would get results like this more often,” she said.
